Students in the “Ensino da Língua Inlgesa e Uso de Novas Tecnologias” specialization course, are required to prepare an e-portfolio that demonstrates their learning, evaluation, and also some researches in “Uso de Novas Tecnologias” module, and this is mine.
In this module the most interesting thing in my point of view is the fact that it made me become more alert to the usage of some tools in English classes. Even though I already knew some of the technological tools, I came across some good ideas of how to use them in English classes that I never thought about before. They are very useful tools that can make some activities, tasks or assignments more interesting to students.
The main ideas proposed in the course were about technology used in a meaningful way according to the lesson plan, helping students to be more aware, motivated and learn through technology since we are at the digital era and dealing with digital native students. I’m keeping my mind open to new ideas and reflecting that it is even possible to use tools that were not made to be used in classroom. Therefore, with creativity, research and determination I can break paradigms and enrich my English classes.

I already started a plan to carry out my own professional development on new technologies and English language teaching making this website which I created as a line to connect myself to my students and as a place in which I am going to maintain this e-portfolio updated with a collection of researches, comments, reflections, and EFL teaching resources for the sake of organising myself and sharing my thoughts and researches. I am also following some of my professors and some people at Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter that share lots of good things as a way to enhance my PLE and improve ideas for my own research. I am taking a MOOC course at Coursera.org and I intend to participate on more webinars.
I evaluate my learning in this module as very good, grade 5, because in my opinion the objectives of the module are to motivate trainees to break some paradigms and have a new sight of how to teach in this digital era, to 21th century students, and specially make trainees aware of the importance of the continuous self professional development. So, I changed my point of view about using technology in classroom and I think this is the most important thing, and from now on, my mind is opened to new technologies, bearing in mind that technology is a changing issue and has to be self-taught, because there will always be new things to learn and search, and it's worth doing it.
